"You should never apologize at the table," Julia Child once said. "People will think, Yes, it’s really not so good." And I feel the same about photographs. If you're bothering to show them, you should believe in them and not apologize for them—even if you know, like a cook in her kitchen, that there were things you should have done differently. Still, I can't help but say that the photographs here are…not so wow.
But I love them anyway.
The first two are from a blustery walk south on 11th Avenue yesterday. And the rest are from earlier today, from a visit to the Met to see the "Stieglitz, Steichen, Strand" show, bookended by walks through magnificent Central Park.
