Got a spontaneous invitation yesterday from a friend to join her and her family for a birthday dinner (her birthday) at Raoul's. Turns out she loves that restaurant—which feels like it's been in Soho forever and is lovely and elegant but still down to earth—as much as I do.
The cab ride there. Some things on my mind.
Passing by Washington Square Park. I love that park.
A view of Raoul's. Cozy lighting.
My friend and her husband. They had their first date at Raoul's. That was in 1996.
My friend and me.
Sorbet with a birthday candle and a spun-sugar dome.
Spun-sugar dome as crown.
