We may all be content creators thanks to the democratizing effects of popular technology, but that doesn't mean we all know what we're doing when we assume the role of creator. I like to observe the choices people make on Craigslist, for example, when they take on the challenges of photographing their merchandise. I love the stubborn shadows, disembodied limbs, pets who wandered into the shot, and clumsy attempts at conveying the scale of an odd item. Some of the images I pull from the site unintentionally tell a story about the person's home. Others are unintentionally artful.
