• I'm working with Eyeist again, this time on text for the homepage. The project involves not just writing copy that matches the tone and conveys the necessary information but also determing the logic of the text elements—positioning, hierarchy, functionality. In addition to writing copy, I created a mockup of how it might be laid out. With a project like this, I find it's often better to show rather than explain how I propose something might work.

• Just completed another Canon advertorial for PDN. The photographer, Tyler Stableford, was a dream to work with.
• The spring 2012 issue of Emerging Photographer is under way. I've spent the past few weeks assigning and editing the issue, whose theme is editorial photography. Lots of good writing and strong photography by some major shooters. I'm really pleased with how the issue is turning out.

• Advertising and promotion are changing in visually exciting ways, as evidenced by the projects produced by a new client of mine, Klip Collective, which is based in Philadelphia. I wrote some case studies for them about several of the 3D-video installations they recently dreamed up for major clients. Klip is a smallish company that pulls off some very big spectacles. I'm excited to be working with them.

• Allegra Wilde hired me to write copy for her exciting new project, Eyeist (eyeist.com). It’s an online portfolio-review service that’s launching in January 2012. Her partners in Eyeist are Jesse Diamond, Micah Diamond, and Doug Dawirs.

• Over the past year, I’ve worked on various photo-related copywriting projects for the design and branding agency Carbone Smolan. This month, they hired me to write copy for a brochure for a major camera manufacturer.

• The fall 2011 issue of Emerging Photographer is published. It’s our documentary issue and includes a feature on National Geographic photographer Michael Yamashita; a think piece by Miriam S.
