COPYWRITING
I’ve been writing for as long as I’ve been alive. Storytelling is the way I navigate myself and the world, and years of practice have made me swift and versatile. As an independent copywriter, I’ve written everything from consumer emails for American Express (via my client SARANKCO) to press releases (for multidisciplinary design firm Unionworks; the Latina-led nonprofit news organization Futuro Media Group; Lauren Greenfield’s Girl Culture Films; and Giant Artists); product descriptions and care instructions (Lindsey Adelman, Avram Rusu), artist bios (favorites include Julia Johnson, Peter Quinn, and Brad Torchia); bios for architects and interior designers; website copy… You name it, really. A few highlights below.

LINDSEY ADELMAN
To support her team’s creative growth and inspire personal discovery, lighting designer Lindsey Adelman established a program in which employees were given a stipend and a week to spend in a workshop environment anywhere in the world. Her only requirement was that they answer a set of questions about the experience and take photos, all of which would be shared with their colleagues upon their return. Having amassed quite a few of these questionnaires, she asked us to shape them into stories that could be shared on the company’s website, thereby honoring their experiences and organically communicating her company’s values.

GIRL CULTURE FILMS
When Emmy-winning photographer and director Lauren Greenfield cofounded Girl Culture Films, a production company representing female-identifying and non-binary directors, she reached out for copywriting support. I wrote case studies for Girl Culture’s website that highlighted pivotal projects, including “Equality Can’t Wait,” featuring Maya Rudolph and directed by Natasha Lyonne.
AVRAM RUSU STUDIO
Avram Rusu Studio commissioned me to write about a lighting collection they were launching, to propose names for the collection, and to write a bio of studio founder Andreea Avram Rusu. At right, the story I wrote for what became known as Botanica…
ABOUT BOTANICA
What transpires when Nature is left to its own devices? It is free to express itself—sensual, resonant, and unabashedly wild. The idea for Botanica originated nearly a decade ago, when designer Andreea Avram Rusu began exploring how to manifest her fascination with plant life in glass form. The shape of the leaves came into focus first, but it wasn’t until a stay in Portugal in early 2021, where she visited the country’s famed botanical gardens, that the concept fully crystallized. Her vision was large flowers with genuine heft, specifically banana flowers, brought to life with surreal flair.
The details are their own story. Created by master glass blowers, no two pieces of glass are the same. The glass naturally interprets the colors—one color on the inside of each petal and a complimentary one on the outside, with edging in a third color. The piece is never one thing, forever responding to the light within and around it. Stems wrapped with green leather (vegan leather, because it doesn’t fade or break down) add texture and warmth. Inside the stem, discs echoing the complex structure of a pineapple are layered with LED lights embedded in silicone, eliminating the need for diffusers.
Impressive in scale at 5 feet high by 3 feet wide, the piece makes its presence known, while seamlessly integrating with its environment. A statement and a whisper.
